Duration: 14 weeks
Time: Evenings twice a week and mentoring as required
Venue: Nedbank Stellenbosch University LaunchLab
Facilitators: Accredited Mentors and Business Coaches
Last semester’s winner was FG Adriaanse, a Stellenbosch University Masters student. FG pitched his business, ADAGIN Technologies, a picking harness that assists farm workers in the table grape industry when harvesting, and won R15,000 in seed funding to kick-start his business.
Along with the KAP programme facilitator, he looked at the critical elements generic to all new businesses: purpose, uniqueness, competitive landscape, sales and marketing, financial management and seed capital. As a KAP finalist, ADAGIN Technologies also won three months free space in the Nedbank Stellenbosch University LaunchLab which will give his business an additional boost during this critical stage of his business when cash flow is key.
He sees the LaunchLab as a place where we work together and the one thing that makes all the difference.
Programme Details
The Knowledge Acceleration Programme is a fourteen-week action-learning entrepreneurship development programme, designed to develop the practicing and aspiring entrepreneur’s business planning and management skills, and in doing so, develop the foundation for building a successful business. This programme is limited to 20 participants, and the best participant will be in line to win R15,000.00 in seed funding.
The content of this programme has been provided by the Centre of Entrepreneurship of Regent University in Virginia, USA, and will be facilitated by experienced coaches and mentors who have been accredited by Mentors and Business Coaches International (MBCI). Entrepreneurs will learn how to better plan and manage key aspects of their businesses to enable better structure and growth of their businesses and to stay competitive.
Key Learning Outcomes:
· Identifying viable business opportunities
· Designing competitive business models
· Managing cash-flow, profit & loss estimation and pricing
· Marketing strategy and planning skills
